Hey i have the wg111t netgear wireless adapter and for some fucking reason the program that came with it the netgear smart wizard, when i double click it to open it opens for like half a second then closes it self. this is a huge problem because i cant connect to the wireless adapter without putting in the password on the smart wizard to connect to my modem. is there some reason this fucking program closes itself automatically how can i keep it to stay open?

are you certain you need this software? i assume you're using windows, in the taskbar there should be window's default internet notification icon, if you left click it perhaps it will bring up a list of SSIDs for you to choose from.. edit: i did a quick search on your model and it seems this guy manually installed its drivers and just connected to his network as one would normally do w/ windows without any software.. http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/12310-wg111t-installation.html here are instructions, some of it seems like it would be unnecessary.. i would just uninstall any netgear software, extract the drivers from the installer without running it, and then manually install the drivers from device manager...

Fuck those utilities and wizards. Download and install the newest driver and use Windows to manage your wireless networks. Apart from not needing another utility running at all times, you can enjoy the benefit of people actually helping you out if you have issues with your wireless networks.

suitable advice has already been given, but it seems like you're dismissing it.. so why don't you contact netgear about your problem.. maybe they can help you get it sorted out. -------------------- Everything is better than it was the last time. Then you'll need to find someone near you who knows what he's doing and who will install the driver for you.

I've run the installer on my laptop to extract the driver. I've attached it in a .rar file; download it and extract the contents to a folder on your hard drive (use WinRAR or a similar program to unzip it). Now do the following: - open the device manager (start --> control panel --> system --> device manager tab) - select the NetGear adapter (it's probably listed under 'Other Devices') - right-click on the NetGear adapter and select properties - select the driver tab - click update driver - don't let windows automatically search for a driver; choose the option where you can manually select a driver and then choose 'have disk' or a similar option that lets you browse for a driver - browse to the folder where you extracted the driver you extracted earlier and select that Windows should now install the driver and associate it with the device. A wireless device should become available and you should be able to use the built-in Windows w-lan utilities to configure your wireless networks.
